You are lick-spitlers and panderers, the creatures of the Plutocracy... : ...You talk verbosely in antiquated terminology of your love of liberty, and all the while you wear the scarlet livery of the Iron Heel." Book spoke to me as to how much of a mess politics was a century ago and how things have never really changed in that regard. While I do not agree with London's views, this book is an important political text that should be read by anyone who is a student of political science.
