:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from DDF1 -- Connected some ideas for me : A quick read with lots to ponder on. Key points are illustrated clearly with questions to force further personal inspection are what will make you slow down and consider how to address your leadership focus to succeed in this new age. The authors have laid out a strong case for us to reconsider everything you do to retain and recruit employees. Real time and real world examples that are pertinent to 2021 and beyond help you see more clearly the tides of change that have accelerated over the past 5-10 years and that became very prevalent in present day. They connected some dots for me along that path that I could not clearly see before that have led to employees needing and wanting more options on how to get things done and less direction than in the past. Individuals have more power to market and sell their skills than ever before with the help of the growing influence of the internet and its power to connect. Strong cases for us to consider how our corporate culture allows true flexibility, recognizes all forms of diversity and focuses on the key element of attracting and retaining the best talent to your organization. - 4.0 out of 5 stars from kdub711 -- Easy to Read and Thought Provoking : I've heard Russ Hill speak several times and was interested to read his work as well. This book is written in a very easy to read, straight-forward way, as if written by a friend speaking to you. I began by setting a few moments aside to read the introduction and was 50 pages in before I knew it. It's very relatable, as both a leader and as someone who recently changed careers largely based on lack of opportunity for growth. I really appreciate that the authors don't take a one size fits all approach. They ask compelling questions, left unanswered, so that you, the reader, may answer them as appropriate for your situation. I recommend this book for anyone, regardless of career level. There's some interesting history included as well. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Christine W -- A MUST READ for every Leader, regardless of level. Time to take a look in the mirror. : I've followed Russ Hill for some time on a professional networking site and have always admired his thought-provoking content. When I heard he was penning a book on "The Great Resignation" I knew I had to get my hands on a copy. The statistics are mind-blowing, the real-life examples made me evaluate where I am as a leader, a business owner, and a champion for the Employee Experience. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Dad -- for the People, because you need them. : I’m certain most of you running a business of any kind would list people as a significant threat to your success. We are discussing how we can’t find employees, they want too much, too difficult to deal with, and we know, workforce just isn’t the same. There are many lessons learned in The Great Resignation but one in particular that resonated with me. Change, it can be very difficult to manage, unsettling, and stressful. What I found particularly insightful about this book was the challenge to maintain a simple concept. People need to be valued first, and this is a book about people. What they want, what they need, and how to help them accomplish their goals and simultaneously help reach yours. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2021 )

After decades of discontent... your staff are not going to put up with it any longer. Great insights from leaders in large organizations with actionable steps.
